Lately is the first extended play by the band Ivy. It was released in 1994 on Seed Records. Musically, the EP is an indie rock and alternative rock record, with influences from indie pop as well. The material featured is similar to what was released on their debut studio album, Realistic.

"I Hate December" was released as the only single on January 12, 1996, to promote Ivy's then-upcoming studio album, Apartment Life. The EP was reissued on August 26, 2003 under Unfiltered Records after the success of Ivy's third studio album, Long Distance. Another song featured on the EP, "I Guess I'm Just a Little Too Sensitive" also appeared on Ivy's fourth studio album, Guestroom, but this new version was slightly different.

Upon release, Lately received mixed reviews from critics. After its reissued edition in 2003, Lately received strong comparisons to its successor, Realistic.

Development

Shortly after the release and popularity of Ivy's debut single, "Get Enough", the writing and production for Lately went underway.[2]
