Madam Secretary is an American political drama television series created by Barbara Hall and executive produced by Lori McCreary and Morgan Freeman. It stars Téa Leoni as Elizabeth "Bess" Adams McCord, a CIA analyst who is promoted to United States Secretary of State. The series was renewed for a second season on January 12, 2015, which premiered on October 4, 2015.[1] On March 25, 2016, CBS renewed the show for a third season.[2]
