List of folk metal bands

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Belrondis (talk | contribs) at 19:07, 26 November 2016 (Added band to list.). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

With a bagpiper in their line-up, Skyforger is an example of a folk metal band that performs with traditional folk instruments.[1]

This is a list of folk metal bands. The genre of folk metal is a fusion of heavy metal music with folk music. This includes the widespread use of folk instruments[2] and to a lesser extent traditional singing styles.[3]

The music of folk metal is characterised by its diversity with bands known to perform different styles of both heavy metal music and folk music.[4] Bands are identified in the list below.[5]
