The Maliya Miyana railway station located in Maliya of Rajkot district in Gujarat. It belongs to Western Railway of Ahmedabad Division.

History

The Maliya Miyana-Wankaner section was laid as a 2ft6inch road side tram way in the year 1880 by Morvi State Railway. Later it was converted to Metre gauge between 1905 and 1930's. It was the last Steam engine hauled section in India. Conversion to Broad gauge was completed in the year 2001. [1]

Features

It is a junction Railway station which had trains to Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Mumbai and Gandhidham.It lies on Gandhidham-Ahmedabad main line. [2]

Passenger Amenities

It is the oldest Railway station. About 8 express trains stop here. A new passenger train to be introduced from Bhuj-Viramgam pass through Maliya in 2013. [3]
