Manoj Sood (born May 5, 1962) is an Indo-Canadian film and television actor.
Life and career
Manoj Sood was born in Mombasa, Kenya, to Hindu parents, Dr. B. K. Sood and Narindar Sood. He immigrated with his family to Canada in 1964. He grew up in Calgary. He attended St. Michaels University School in Victoria, British Columbia.
Sood entered the entertainment world in 1994. Much to his surprise, he landed a supporting role in an American movie the week after his first audition. Up until then his only acting experience had been from his acting classes.[citation needed]
Since then, Sood has appeared in more than 60 television and feature film productions. He has appeared on popular television shows including Da Vinci's Inquest, The Dead Zone, Romeo!, Dead Like Me and a series lead (91 episodes) of Little Mosque on the Prairie, as well as numerous others. Sood has also acted in films such as Meltdown (2004) (TV), Rat Race (2001 film) and Watchmen. Recent credits include performances in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, Continuum, "The Pinocchio Project" and Brad Bird's Tomorrowland.
He is of Indian descent but often plays Middle Eastern or Pakistani characters.
Personal life
He is a brother of actress Veena Sood. He has a son, Kama L. Sood, born May 6, 1998.
Sood has been a passionate fly fisherman[1] and amateur astronomer since he was a child; when he's not acting he is fly-fishing with his son or gazing into the universe with his telescope.[2]
