Maya & Marty is an upcoming American live television variety show that is expected to premiere on NBC on May 31, 2016. The series will be co-hosted by comedians Maya Rudolph, Martin Short and Kenan Thompson, and produced by Lorne Michaels. The show will feature various comedy sketches, musical numbers, and celebrity guests. The variety series will be aired live from NBC's headquarters in 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, the same place where another popular sketch show Saturday Night Live is taped. The series has been in the works for about a year before it was officially greenlit on February 12, 2016.[1]

The show would effectively be a continuation of Rudolph's one-time variety special entitled The Maya Rudolph Show which aired on the same network on May 19, 2014.[2] The series is network's second attempt airing a variety show after Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris was cancelled after one season during the same television season.[3]

Broadcast

Maya & Marty is scheduled to premiere on NBC in the United States; the first episode will air on Tuesday at 10:00/9:00 pm ET/PT on May 31, 2016, following a season premiere of America's Got Talent.[4]
