Meenava Nanban ([Fisherman 's friend] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: text has italic markup (help)), is a 1977 Indian Tamil-language film directed by C. V. Sridhar, starring M. G. Ramachandran in the lead role, with Latha, M. N. Nambiar, Nagesh among others enacting supporting roles.

Plot

Kumaran (MGR), a nice adventurer comes to take the defense of the fishermen exploited by Nagaraj (V. K. Ramaswamy), the notable of the place.

Kamaili (Latha), his daughter will fall in love with Kumaran.

Together, they will continue the fight against the injustice.

They will have much to do...

Around the movie

MGR obtained an enormous salary for MEENAVA NANBAN in that time (during 70 's).

It was the second and last collaboration of MGR with the director C. V. Sridhar, after the Tamil cinema classic, URIMAI KURAL, 1974.

It ran more than 100 days in Devi Paradise, Chennai and Chinthamani in Madurai etc.
