Mezzomerico is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Novara in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) northeast of Turin and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Novara. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,005 and an area of 7.6 square kilometres (2.9 sq mi).[3]

Mezzomerico borders the following municipalities: Agrate Conturbia, Divignano, Marano Ticino, Oleggio, Suno, and Vaprio d'Agogna.

Name

The name of Mezzomerico reflects the Celtic Mediomatrici people; the name was attested as Mediomadrigo in 980.[4]
