Midnight Sun is an expected companion novel to the book Twilight by author Stephenie Meyer.[1] Although Meyer plans on having it published, there are not yet any immediate plans for this to occur. This book is Meyer's next project following the fourth novel of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn.[2] Meyer has stated that Midnight Sun is the only book from the Twilight series that she plans to rewrite from Edward's perspective.[3]

Plot introduction

The plot of Midnight Sun will be parallel to Twilight, beginning with the first time Edward Cullen sees Bella Swan and leading up to the end of their prom night. However, Midnight Sun will be written from the perspective of Edward, the vampire with whom Bella falls in love. The first chapter of this novel (which is still subject to changes by the author) can be found on Meyer's official website.[4] The edited version of this first chapter has also been included in the UK release of Meyer's first adult novel, The Host, when purchased at a Borders store. Also, in Australia and in Italy, it has been included in the special edition of Twilight.
