Miloš (Cyrillic: Милош, pronounced [mîloʃ]) (Czech pronunciation: [ˈmɪloʃ]) is a Slavic masculine given name common in Serbia and Montenegro, and to a lesser degree in the Czech Republic. In Polish, the name is spelled Miłosz. Miloš is a Slavic given name recorded from the early Middle Ages among the Serbs, Czechs and Poles. It is derived from the Slavic root mil-, "merciful" or "dear", which is found in a great number of Slavic given names.[1]
