Miss Teen Ecuador is a national beauty pageant in Ecuador.
The Miss Teen Ecuador beauty pageant has been held annually since 1990 to select representatives of Ecuador to international competitions.[1]
The beauty pageant under the direction of Rodrigo Moreira promotes the values of Ecuadorian women and chose to support to the Children's Hospital.
The current Miss Teen Ecuador is Lessie Giler from Portoviejo, Manabí. She won the title at the Teatro Centro de Arte of Guayaquil on April 18, 2015.[2]
At the 25th Anniversary Edition of the pageant was chosen Débora Zamora, from Guayaquil, Guayas, Miss Teen Ecuador Mundo 2015 and Daniela Cepeda, from Guayaquil, Guayas, Miss Teen Ecuador Internacional 2015.
Since 2015, the first runner-up will compete at Miss Teenager World and the second runner-up becomes representative of Ecuador at Miss Teen Earth.
History
Miss Teen Ecuador was founded in 1990 by Cesar Montecé [3] CEO of the Queen of Ecuador Inc. company.
The first Miss Teen Ecuador pageant was held in Guayaquil City, Ecuador in 1990; and the first winner was Alicia Álvarez. C.J. Arosemena Monroy, a former President of the Republic of Ecuador was present during the pageant coronation night.[4]
In 2012, the Queen of Ecuador Inc. company sold all the rights of the contest to the Miss Teen Ecuador Organization.
Rodrigo Moreira, president of the Miss Teen Ecuador Organization is voluntarily committed together the contestants in an annual campaign to gather powdered milk for children treated at the Solca Hospital in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
The Miss Teen Ecuador pageant celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Teatro Centro de Arte on April 18, 2015.
