Mitchell College is a private liberal arts college on the Thames River, in New London, Connecticut, in the United States.[2] In 2015 it had 778 students and faculty of 68; admission rate was 70%.[2]
The college offers associate and bachelor's degrees in fourteen subjects including business administration, criminal justice, early childhood education and sports administration.[2]
Athletics
The college sports teams are known as the Mariners. Until the NCAA ruling on the Native American mascot controversy, they were called the Pequots.[citation needed] The college competes in NCAA Division III in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, sailing, and soccer for men, and basketball, cross country, sailing, soccer, softball, and volleyball for women.[2]
Academics
Mitchell College reports having 23 full-time faculty, 73 part-time faculty, and 57% of classes having between 10 and 19 students.[5] The college offers degrees in business, communication, education, environmental studies, family studies, liberal arts, psychology, public safety, and sports and fitness.[2]
Alumni
Alumni of the college include Derrick Levasseur, criminal justice.[6]
