Some other accounts claim that Yasuda Kunitsugu, an Akechi vassal, killed him. Saying that "it was commonly understood" makes it sound like it was "common knowledge fact". I believe the cited source does meam that it was a common part of loterature, amd not alleging that it was fact. Ranmaru's beauty is also part of Edo era literature, so I removed it from the description to avoid it being assumed as factual information.
