Yvonne McGregor won the Bronze in 3000m women's pursuit 8 years prior. Also reworded the line: "Thus, in 2008, Cooke not only recorded the first ever British Olympic Medal of any sort in any cycling discipline for a female but also the first ever Gold Medal won in any road discipline by a British rider irrespective of sex" undo

I changed it to say she was the first gold medal winner of 2008 which is somewhat menial but at least true. undo
