Nipomo High School is an American public high school located in Nipomo, California. It serves grades 9-12 as part of the Lucia Mar Unified School District. In August, 2009 it was recognized by the Department of Education as the "most distinguished public high school" in central California.[citation needed]
History
Nipomo High School opened in 2002. Initially, students in Nipomo attended Arroyo Grande High School, however, due to overcrowding, the school was built. It is also home to Central Coast New Tech High, the only technical school in Central California from Thousand Oaks to San Jose. [3]

Nipomo High School offers a Drama department focused on productions of shows and use the Clark Center for the Performing Arts. They have done many shows in the past five years that the school has been opened. The NHS Competitive Cheer team missed first place at the NCA Competition in the 2010-2011 school year.
