Ohimini is a Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Idekpa-Okpiko.Ohimini was created out of the present Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.Major districts under Ohimini local Government are,Onyagede which share boundary with Kogi state has the following villages,Amoke Enumona,Ogodu,Awume,Ikpoke,Ogoli,Ogande,Ugofu,Ipolabakpa,Umonomi and Iyaya,Okpiko,Agadagba,Oglewu and Idekpa the capital.
It has an area of 632 km² and a population of 71,482 at the 2006 census.
Ohimini LGA is geographically classified into three zones namely Zone A, Zone B and Zone C. Zone A consist of the Oglewu and Ochobo district while Zone B and Zone C consist of the Okpiko/Agadagba and Onyagede/Awume districts respectively.
Awume is divided into Awumicho (meaning Upper Awume) and Awumehaje (Meaning lower Awume). Ejule, Ondo and Olaiga are some villages in Awumeicho while Ajegbe is a big village in Awumehaje. Prominent men form this region include Hon. Francis Ijiga (A former Benue state permanent secretary), Hon. Linus Ameh (A former Executive LG Chairman), Ali Otakwu (A former federal director of finance) and Mr Atilo Okpe.
Religion
The people of Ohimini LGA are predominantly Christians. The Catholic church is also very prominent in this region.
