He is the former chairman of Decathlon, one of the world's largest sporting goods retailers,[7][8] which was founded by his father Michel Leclercq. The family owns 49% of the company.[4] Leclercq is a member of the Mulliez family, the 12th wealthiest family in the world.[9]

Other ventures

In August 2014, Leclercq became the co-owner and executive vice president of ACI Jet[10] which has 3 fixed-base operator (FBO) leases in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles[11] and Oceano.[12] Though investment date and amount is undisclosed, according to ACI Jet founder William Borgsmiller, "Olivier provides ACI Jet with the same depth and access to capital as many large and publicly traded companies," and in January 2017, ACI Jet was awarded a further FBO lease at Orange County's John Wayne Airport, replacing the previous lease with Signature Flight Support.[13][14]

In January 2017, Leclercq founded the Employee Flight Department at ACI Jet, a service that allows all of ACI Jet's employees to use the three aircraft donated by Leclercq for free, to train or to fly with friends and family.[15]

In July 2016, Leclercq founded Olivarius Hospitality California,[16] and acquired Coolibar, a company that specializes in sun-protective clothing, and is its chairman.[17][18]

In September 2016, Leclercq invested €3 million in Dagoma, a French 3D printing startup.[19][20]

Personal life

Leclercq is a member of the Mulliez family, known for the founding and ownership of supermarket chain Auchan, and considered to be the 4th wealthiest family in France.[21] According to Business Insider, the Mulliez Family net worth was reported in 2017 as £16.6 billion (€18.8 billion).[22] His father, Michel Leclercq, is the founder of Decathlon, and is on the board of directors with his son.[23] in 2018, Bloomberg reported the Mulliez family net worth as US$37.5 billion.[9]

He married on 20 June 2003 in Tournai, Belgium to Nathalie Wibaut, they have three children and live in Montecito, California.[citation needed]
