Orthanc is a lightweight open-source DICOM server[further explanation needed] for medical imaging supporting representational state transfer.[2][3] It is licensed under the GPLv3.

Awards

For his work on Orthanc, Sébastien Jodogne received the Free Software Award in 2015.[4] Orthanc also received the eHealth Agoria award for 2015.[5]

Operating system support

Orthanc is part of the Debian Med project.[6] Official packages are available for numerous Linux distributions including Debian,[7] Ubuntu[8] and Fedora[9]. Ports are available for FreeBSD and OpenBSD. Windows binary installer packages may be freely downloaded from the Orthanc website but are provided by a commercial partner.

Orthanc is also available as a Beta-package through the package center for Synology NAS users.
