Panikkar is a title used in India, specifically in the state of Kerala, which roughly comprises the former (British) Madras Presidency district of Malabar and the princely states of Cochin and Travancore, plus Kasargod from Mysore at the Northern end and minus Kanyakumari District at the Southern tip of India.

It is sometimes used as a surname by certain families from Hindu, Christian and secular communities.
