History
The first station of Senen was built in 1886 and serve as loading/unloading logistics station. The new station was built few yards away from the old station and was opened on 19 March 1925. The station was designed by J. van Gendt who was head of Statts Spoorwegen (SS) architecture bureau. The station was the first of its kind in Java to have a high level platform, similar to the stations in Netherlands. The station was intended to be the main central station of Weltevreden.
