Pennsylvania State Senate District 40 includes parts of Monroe County and Northampton County. It includes the following areas:[1]

Melissa A. Hart Republican 1991 – 2001 Resigned on January 2, 2001 following election to Congress.[2]
Jane Clare Orie Republican 2001 – 2012 Elected March 20, 2001 to fill vacancy,[3] resigned on May 21, 2012.
Randy Vulakovich Republican 2012 – 2014 Elected August 7, 2012 to fill vacancy.;[4] Subsequently, represented the 38th district
District moved from Allegheny County to Monroe and Northampton Counties in 2014.
Mario Scavello Republican 2015 – Elected November 4, 2014 upon redistricting.
