Gerard Rennick People First (GRPF), also known as the People First Party (PFP), is an unregistered Australian political party. It was founded on 10 September 2024[1] by Queensland senator Gerard Rennick after he was disendorsed by the Liberal National Party in July of the same year.
History
[edit]In July 2023, Rennick was disendorsed from being on the Coalition's senate ticket for the next Australian federal election.[2] In September 2024, he quit the party to found PFP,[1] allowing him to "get [his] name above the line on the Senate ticket.[2]
Policies
[edit]Policies of People First includes creating a public bank for infrastructure funding, raising the tax-free threshold to $40,000 AUD, and making changes to childcare funding; Rennick has stated opposition to increasing federal funding of childcare, saying it infects children with the "woke mind virus".[3][2][4]
