Per Olof Sundman (19221992) was a Swedish writer and politician.

Sundman was born in Vaxholm. In his youth, Sundman was a member of Nordisk Ungdom (Nordic Youth), a Nazi organization that existed between 19331950. After the War, Sundman joined the Center Party and was elected to the Riksdag. He managed to keep his background as a Nazi secrete until it was reveled after his death.

Per Olof Sundman released his first book in 1957 and soon became a successful writer, even internationally. His writing was compared to that of Ernest Hemingway, and in 1975, Sundman became a member of the Swedish Academy, seat 6.
