Pier Giorgio Dall'Acqua (Mercato Saraceno, 14 April 1949) is an Italian politician.

Political activity

Coming from La Margherita and current representative of the Democratic Party is President of the Province of Ferrara since June 1999.

He was re-elected president of the province in the round of the 2004 (elections of 12 and June 13), collecting 56.3% of the votes representing a coalition of centre-left, its administrative mandate expires in 2009.

Biographical notes

He lives and resides in Ferrara since 1962, and here he obtained the diploma of industrial expert.

In 1969 he attended the 23rd ACS Course at the Military School "Truppe Corazzate" in Lecce, to take service as Sergeant at the barracks "Monte Cimone" in Banne (Trieste).

Later he devotes to the union: extraction Catholic, Dall'Acqua began his militancy in the CISL, of which he became provincial secretary, a position which he held from 1986 to 1998. Later he was assigned to duties at regional and national levels. During this experience he has participated in numerous events on both the contractual public and private sectors. As provincial secretary, he also held the post of member of the Chamber of Commerce of Ferrara, gaining a deeper knowledge of the workforce, businesses and institutions, and rules that govern the operation. In those years, Pier Giorgio Dall'Acqua has acquired full awareness of all the problems of the territory of Ferrara, first of all the "world of work".

In 2003 he was awarded by the Italian President of the recognition of "Cavaliere Ufficiale della Repubblica".

In 2004 he was elected regional president of UPI (Union of Italian Provinces) of Emilia Romagna and the following year he won the title of "Commendatore", always honor conferred by the hands of the President of the Republic.

Since 2007 he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation Ermitage Italia in Ferrara. Today he is committed to starting a process of socio-economic development, in keeping with his electoral program.
