Featured portal nomination[edit]

Nominating this portal for featured status, per Wikipedia:Featured portal criteria. The portal is very complete, informative, encyclopedic and useful.

The shuffle option for the portal, per the "Show new selections" purge option on the page, has the following content options:

Selected articles[edit]

I think the selected articles is getting too large on this portal, I would possibly cut to from 120 to 50 and move some of it the like The Simpsons and South Park portals, along with selected pictures and DYKs since I think 50 is the limit. I've removed SpongeBob SquarePants and Adventure Time from the portal and replaced with Toy Story since there not comprehensive, although My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is okay, but little comprehensive. Portals don't need too much maintenance. JJ98 (Talk) 17:57, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Misuse of terms such as "CGI" "computer graphic imagery" and "traditional".[edit]

It has come to my attention that wikipedia has a lot of articles referring to digitally created 2D animation as "traditional animation" or "traditional art" and referring to "CGI" only when it comes to 3D animation. Even methods such as flash and ToonBoom don't appear to be referred to as CGI, but at the least they aren't being called traditional either(though pages like Flash Animation are still using "traditional" wrong).

The use of things such as digital ink is literally creating imagery on a computer, and even most "analog art"/actual traditional art is still most likely animated on a computer these days, making the animation not traditional. It is primarily for this reason that I propose that this inaccuracy be rectified. Mattwo7 (talk) 02:47, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed Ralph Bakshi and replaced Hayao Miyazaki at the selected biography section. I believe that Bakshi does not meet the FA criteria, since it was lower and it was initiated by a now banned editor who tried to get this article promoted nine times over two years.
