Purushottam Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), (Template:Lang-or) is a private co-aid undergraduate engineering college located in Mandiakudar of town Kansbahal. The institute was established in 1999. In the beginning, the institute temporarily functioned in the Biju Patnaik Hockey Stadium, Sector 06 of city Rourkela, with small a number of students and teachers. In 2001 the institute moved to new campus located at Mandiakudar, 30km away from the city Rourkela. Presently at Mandiakudar the campus of the institute is functioning with two separate buildings of degree and diploma college of Purushottam School of Engineering and Technology.

The institute[2] offers 4 years of undergraduate B.Tech degree with affiliation from Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). The undergraduate students study courses in streams of CSE, ETE, EEE, IT, AEI and ME. The Mechanical Engineering course has the most undergraduate students compared to other streams.

In the year 2007 the institute started courses for MCA and MBA but eventually the students for post graduation course in this institute remained low.

The institute is almost one kilometer away from the town of Kansbahal and half a kilometer from IIPM School of Management. The campus has a residential hostel complex built near the institute for students coming from outside of the city and other Indian states. It has a small post office outside the campus entrance gate by the Indian postal department and has a small temple of Lord Hanuman inside.

Due to presence of this institute in Mandiakudar, the economy of this village has really helped the poor people. Outside the institute are small restaurants and stationery shops, where students come for meals and snacks during recess.

The location of the institute has the advantage of frequent buses travelling daily from Kansbahal to Rourkela in the state highway of SH 21.
