Ralph C. Watts (born July 26, 1944) is the Iowa State Representative from the 19th District. A Republican, he has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2003. He received his BS from the University of Wyoming and has did MBA work at Drake University and at Creighton University.
As of January 2013[update], Watts serves on several committees in the Iowa House – the Appropriations, Commerce, Labor, and State Government committees. He also serves as the chair of the Administration and Regulation Appropriations Subcommittee.
Biography
Ralph was born in Lovell, Wyoming. He grew up in Wyoming and graduated from high school in Byron, Wyoming, in 1962. After high school, Ralph graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1966.
Following this, he went on to do graduate work at Drake University and Creighton University. He married his wife, Sandy, in 1964, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ralph and Sandy have four grown children: Doug, Brad, Rhonda, and ReNae. They are also blessed with nine grandchildren.
Ralph belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he has remained very active over the years.
Ralph currently works as a consultant and small business owner. As an engineer, he previously worked as a utility manager for an energy supplier. He is a past member of the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs, and a current member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the National Rifle Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
