Renato Cardoso Porto Neto (born 27 September 1991 in Camacan, Bahia) is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Videoton, on loan from Sporting Clube de Portugal, as a midfielder.
Football career
Neto started his career in a small team based in Santa Catarina, Academia Catarinense de Futebol, where he was spotted by S.L. Benfica's scouting team[citation needed]. However, he eventually signed for Lisbon neighbours Sporting Clube de Portugal at the age of 16, going on to be part of the club's junior teams that won three national championships in a row.
On 24 May 2009, Neto made his debut for the Lions' first team, playing four minutes in a 3–1 home win against C.D. Nacional after replacing compatriot Derlei. His second top division appearance came one year later, against Leixões SC (one minute played).
After graduating from Sporting's academy, Neto was loaned out to Cercle Brugge K.S.V. in Belgium, alongside teammate Nuno Reis. In his only full season in the Pro League, he scored four goals in 36 games (32 starts) as the team finished in ninth position.
In late December 2011, as Sporting was facing a injury crisis in midfield, Neto was recalled by the club's manager Domingos Paciência.
