Rona Mackay is a Scottish National Party (SNP) politician who has been the Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Strathkelvin and Bearsden since the Scottish Parliamentary elections in May 2016.

She has worked as a journalist and author.[1]
Political career
She worked as a Parliamentary assistant to Gil Paterson, the SNP MSP for Milngavie and Clydebank.[1] Mackay was announced as a SNP candidate for the Strathkelvin and Bearsden seat in August 2015.[1]
On 6 May, Mackay was elected with a majority of 8,100 votes.[2] Mackay was selected for the Scottish Parliament's justice committee and elected its deputy convener in June.[3] She is also a member of the public petitions committee.[4]
