Rua de Unidade Africana

Rua Unidade Africana (Portuguese for "African Unity") is a street in Mindelo, Cape Verde, running from Avenida Marginal to the historic Palácio do Povo (then the Palácio do Governador). The street is one of the main streets in the city centre.

Until the late 2000s, the street was once called Rua Lisboa (Portuguese for Lisbon), it was renamed due to colonial links, also in the city "Rua Oriental" was renamed to "Rua de Angola" in the same time.

The street begins by the Porto Grande Bay at Avenida Marginal, and contains several examples of colonial architecture.
