The S.H.I.E.L.D. Flying Car is a fictional vehicle appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Publication history

The S.H.I.E.L.D. Flying Car first appeared in Strange Tales #135 (August, 1965).

Description

The flying car is a S.H.I.E.L.D. personal vehicle that looks like a car but can fly.

Phil Coulson's flying car "Lola" stands for "Low-Orbit Liftoff Automobile."[1] Coulson first used the car to help Deadpool and Agent Adsit escape from criminals.[2]

Parker Industries employee Clayton Cole worked to make the flying cars available to the public.[3]

In other media

It made appearances in Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends,[citation needed] and Spider-Man: The Animated Series.[citation needed] In Captain America: The First Avenger, Howard Stark unveils a flying car at Stark Expo.[citation needed] A flying car appears in the possession of Phil Coulson in the TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which he calls "Lola".[citation needed]
