Salehpur is a small village in Mullana tehsil under Ambala district in Haryana state. It has population of 2200. There are approximately 900 authorized votes. Another very small village named Jamaal Majra is also under the control of Salehpur gram panchayat.

Currently it's Sarpanch is Mohit Sharma who won panchayat elections held in January 2016. Late Sh. Sadhu Ram Saini continuously remained sarpanch of the village for a period that spanned well over 4 decades (almost prior to a time when Panchayati Raj started in the state).

The livelihood of people here depends primarily on agriculture and some other agriculture related small occupations. Most inhabitants belong to saini cast, but pandit, dalit, rajput, sikh, gadariya (shepherd community) and few others are also quite numerable. Salehpur falls under the Mullana constituency in Rajya Vidhaan Sabha.

It is well connected with Highway no. 73 (Ambala to Jagadhri) from south side and Highway from Nahan to New Delhi from north side. Its adjacent villages are Dheen, Ponti, Alipur, Duliana and Duliyani.
