Scotch and Soda (famous by its 'Houtje- touwtjejas')(stylized as SCOTCH & SODA, or Scotch & Soda) is a Dutch fashion retail company founded in 1985. Beginning as a men's wholesale brand; Scotch & Soda was bought by Eric Bijlsma, Patrick Munsters and Joep Krouwels in 2000 (These former owners are now part of the board of directors*). After this, Scotch & Soda rebranded and relaunched a year later by Harry Schofield, Leonard Feinblatt, and Leonard Buzz. Scotch & Soda was acquired by the brand house Kellwood Stables (an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners) in 2011.

Scotch & Soda collections are designed in-house with designers located at 'Number 22', Keizersgracht, Amsterdam – a design studio in a former church, in the heart of the city. All collections are designed under the Creative Direction of Marlou van Engelen, Creative Director since 2014.

The collections are best described as 'worldly-cool', incorporating stand-out prints and patterns in each season, which has a theme and story integrated into the collection. The brand is known for its love of classic styles and prints with a design twist and small added detailing. The children's range uses the same prints, patterns and qualities as the main lines for cohesiveness.

Notable wearers include actor Benedict Cumberbatch, Oscar Academy award winner Eddie Redmayne, singers Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lopez, and model Heidi Klum. Along with these celebrities, Scotch & Soda is growing in popularity among young Dutch bloggers, stylists and influencers.

Scotch & Soda presented their SS17 fashion collection at New York Fashion Week. The brand showed as part of the Official New York Fashion Week Schedule, choosing a presentation style to tell the new collection stories to a global audience.

Scotch and Soda primarily manufactures not only premium and upmarket men's clothing but also women's clothing under the brand Maison Scotch, boy's clothing under Scotch Shrunk, girls' clothing under Scotch R'Belle, denim and urban products under Amsterdams Blauw and a line of fragrances named Barfly.[2] Scotch and Soda own and operate over 204 official stores and are stocked in over 8,000 stores globally as of February 2015.[3]
