No changes, just cut and paste for this paragraph. undo
  • curprev 23:2223:22, 6 September 2024 IvanaAlexML talk contribs m 56,847 bytes −325 Overview: reorganizing Overview and Motivation in the Introduction. In general, I think that there is too much repetition in introduction and the 2 sections, Motivation and Overview needed a revision. There are also some details in "overview" maybe too overwhelming for a reader in the beginning (like the agency who are dealing with SA) that I put in the end (in a further reading "SA in international context"), in order to avoid diversion. No big changes, like additions, just reorganisation undo

Even if a surrogate model is an alternative approach to represent f, when f it is time-consuming, it is not an SA method per se. Once used to approximate the function and obtain less expensive y, we still need some of the SA methods to calculate sensitivity indices. Idem for HDMR. Also, let use one term, metamodels, or surrogate models or emulators, to avoid confusion. undo

  • curprev 23:0723:07, 3 September 2024 IvanaAlexML talk contribs 56,177 bytes +4,529 We've added three categories of methods that are very common in the state of the art: Morris, which is the preliminary method and the first to try, also known as the screening method, Moment-independent methods (coming naturally after variance-based methods) and the Chaos polynomial decomposition for calculating Sobol indices. undo

  • curprev 11:4011:40, 3 September 2024 IvanaAlexML talk contribs 51,374 bytes +1,835 I found that there is no pedagogical description and there is not a proper mathematical formulation, as well introduction of vocabulary, and symbols, which should go in the beginning and in a separate section (so useful for explaining the methods afterwards). I would love to add this information at the first stage, and maybe clean some wrong links, ex., the confidence of the output (referring to the reliability of the output), while providing a link to confidence and self-confidence page. undo
