Sergei Zhurikov (Russian: Сергей Николаевич Журиков) (November 21, 1980 - May 2, 2014) was a commander of the Donbass People's Militia in the secessionist Donetsk People's Republic during the War in Donbass. He was born in Sevastopol in Crimea. He was killed in the Siege of Sloviansk fighting against Ukrainian government forces.

Biography

Sergei Zhurikov born in Sevastopol November 21, 1980. Before the Ukrainian crisis he served as a sacristan in Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.[1]

During the Ukrainian crisis he joined separatist forces under the nom de guerre "Romashka" ("Daisy"), and became one of the leaders of Sloviansk militia.

Death

Sergei Zhurikov was shot by the sniper of Ukrainian army in 2 May 2014 during the fighting in the center of Slavyansk. Buried in Sumy region (Ukraine).[2]
