Shadowzone is a 1990 science fiction/horror film directed by J. S. Cardone.
Plot
During a secret subterranean scientific experiment, the effects of artificially created excessive daytime sleepiness are studied. After one of the subjects has died in a mysterious way during the trial, a captain from NASA is sent to the laboratory to investigate the case. It soon turns out that the portal to a parallel universe has been discovered. There is no escaping Shadowzone. While there, even your thoughts can betray you.
That's a lesson learned too late by NASA hyper-sleep researchers. Through the dimension comes an alien invader that disturbs the experiment, taking the shape of each person's most morbid fear. Finally, only the NASA captain and the last remaining subject, a young woman, survive.
