TV Patrol Chavacano is ABS-CBN Zamboanga's local newscast. Aired on ABS-CBN TV-3 Zamboanga and simulcast on TV-42 Dipolog and TV-10 Jolo, TV Patrol Chavacano delivers news from Zamboanga City and the Western Mindanao area (ARMM Basilan-Sulu-Tawi-tawi area and Zamboanga Peninsula Region). Broadcasting live from ABS-CBN Zamboanga studios, the newscast runs for 25-30 minutes before TV Patrol World. Jewel Reyes is the main anchor of this newscast. While other TV Patrol versions in Mindanao aired in Cebuano (the native tongue spoken mostly in Mindanao), TV Patrol Chavacano is TV Patrol's only edition in Mindanao that uses different language in Mindanao, Zamboanga's native language.

Timeline

  • January 1995- the newscast, known as "Chavacano TV Patrol," before the words being reverted a year later, made its maiden broadcast. Hosted first by Irene Covarrubias and Roland Ramos, the studios of TV Patrol has lack of broadcast equipments since the network was newly transferred to the old PBS studios.
  • Hoy! Gising Segment was aired on this newscast. Other news portions were Chavacano Starnews and Editorial by Reyerio Candido, who was later the main anchor.
  • From 1995 to 2004, the news was ended with Chavacano quotes/sayings (translated to English) called El Refran del Dia.
  • In 1996, broadcast facilities for TV Patrol Chavacano were upgraded. Thus it was seen live.
  • Anchors Butch Bustamante and Reynerio Candido left the newscast in 2001 and 2004 respectively for candidacy as bets for councilor. The latter was voted as City Councilor in 2004 and is now on his second term in the City Council.
