Taher (alternatively spelled Tahir and Tahar in French, Тагир in Russian; Persian: طاهر, Arabic: طاهر, Ṭāhir; pronounced [tˤɑːˈher] pronounced [tˤɑːˈhɪr] or [Ṭāher]) means purity and cleanliness. Origin of this name is Persian[1], and It is found in ancestral Jewish Sephardic and Mizrahi families. There are several Semitic variations that include connotations given in diasporas settled in the Middle East, Latin American and Africa. Also, Taher means clean.
