Although he has thrown the fastest pitches ever seen according to radar guns installed in the ball parks, it is deceptive to say that these are the fastest pitches ever recorded since Major League Baseball does not officially record pitch speeds. There are no rules set forth to make sure these radar machines are properly calibrated to a set standard for all parks. It has also been proven that at times when a road team with a pitcher known to throw fast, an "away" park will recalibrate their guns so it appears the fast pitcher is throwing slower than he actually is in order to throw off his game. In may opinion the wording should be changed since these are not officially recorded stats. ::He hasn't actually hit 105 even. The fastest recorded by cameras said it was 102. The guns at the stadium aren't really calibrated properly most the time, so they can't be believed 99% 0f the time.----~~BULLDOG106

==Citizenship==

He is not just Cuban. He has Andorran citizenship as well. Whoever removed that clearly does not know a thing about his history or how the citizenship process works. Do we consider naturalized Americans Mexicans? No, Mexican-Americans.

Birth city

Anyone know what city he was born in? All I can find is Cuba. --Brian Halvorsen (talk) 16:10, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He was born in the city of Frank Pais, province of Holguin here is the direct link of the city:

Also, please add height 6'4", and weight 185 pounds.

Removal

Removed false claim that all of Chapman's pitches in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work on September 24th, 2010 were above 102 MPH. Left fielder Ryan Ludwick flied out for the first out in the 8th inning on a pitch that was recorded at 100 MPH as clearly seen in this video: [1] Axion22 (talk) 10:15, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fastest "recorded" pitch
