Not for the main article, but it is interesting that Thomas' legs were only partially severed by being run over by the train and that the surgeons had to fully remove them later. I guess the carriages were not heavy enough to chop them off completely, but rode over them, severely mangling them, but not chopping them off. Rickedmo (talk) 18:49, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
