Peter Gethin
[edit]I noticed some sources list Peter Gethin as a DSQ rather than retired. It seems Gethin retired from the race and was later disqualified for reversing into the pits.
- Here's what various sources say:
DSQ Formula1.com, StatsF1, grandprix.com, silhouet.com Ret ChicaneF1, Racingsportcars.com, MotorSport, Lang, FORIX (subscription required)
- Given that there are credible sources on both sides of the ledger, I'm not sure which way to go. Any input is appreciated. Jahn1234567890 (talk) 16:16, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hmm. It's a tricky one. In other circumstances where a driver has both been disqualified and retired from the race (e.g. Regazzoni & Laffite/1976 British GP, Hans Heyer/1977 German GP), we've gone with "DSQ" (with a footnote that sources differ in the case of Regazzoni & Laffite). But I'm really surprised that Motor Sport (and to a lesser extent Lang) make no mention of Gethin reversing into the pits or being disqualified. (For Motor Sport it might be explainable if Gethin was disqualified some time after the race, i.e. after the race report had been written). DH85868993 (talk) 10:34, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
- Besides the mentioned websites I can't find any race report that state anything about Gethin being disqualified. Jahn1234567890 (talk) 20:28, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
