The comment about the drivers being confused and waved back is incorrect I think

Watching the race back on F1TV - Murray walker states on commentary that the drivers are waving to notify drivers behind, referencing that they do this when they change lines. There's no way to know if they were confused but given how quickly he said this I think this was normal at the time (others can agree/disagree if they know better from that era of F1) Nickroope (talk) 21:13, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The race was not flagged by the marshalls

Derek Ongaro was the official starter of every GP and he was forced to hurry up the start and the green lights wrnt on when there were 4 mechanics still on track, and after the first lap it was Didier Pironi who slowed his car when he saw what happened (he was running 2nd) and forced the drivers to stop.
