What the...?[edit]

Being well familiar with these Baseball Hall of Fame Balloting pages (I've edited them all, and created most of them between 1945 and 1995), I was quite surprised by the previous year's balloting charts. I like it, although I think it should not be used after this year's results come in. But that's just me. I mean, none of the other articles have the surrounding results displayed. But, I do find it interesting as a way to predict how it'll turn out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Masternachos (talkcontribs) 00:03, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I was the one who added the previous year's results: they give a clear indication of who's on the cusp (Rice probably, Dawson maybe). I actually think each page would benefit from showing the preceding and following year vote totals, but otherwise yeah, they should be yanked when the '09 votes come out.

I'm re-adding the table, without the apparently offensive 08 numbers. Though the reverter thought otherwise, the table does and did include only those on this year's ballot. The **only** change I believe this introduces is to make the formatting and prose parallel with previous years. --Mrflip (talk) 08:09, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it seems the previous year's results have been removed. I think, then, that the chart is now completely useless; what is the point of a chart without any numbers? I would say get rid of it, but I'll let be resolved via democracy. Once the final ballot is announced, though, I don't see why we can't put it back. But, again, someone else can do it. --masternachos

Should we add the percentages for the VC results? --masternachos —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.8.26.10 (talk) 20:13, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

VC[edit]

As I was curious, I e-mailed the Baseball Hall of Fame. In the response that I received, they said that the pre-1943 ballot might advance its years covered when it shows up again in 2014. It might then be a pre-1948 ballot, which would then include Gil Hodges. However, he said that it might; it seems to me as though they have'nt made a decision yet. I just thought that this info should be shared. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Masternachos (talkcontribs) 22:34, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
