Dead heat?[edit]

Is there a rule that drivers split points or something if the race ends in a dead heat? Please clarify because someone wrote that it is possible for Red Bull to win the Constructor's Championship if they score less than half a point and Red Bull wins first and second in both races. Of course there is a rule. in case that drivers or teams are equal on points after the last race, the majority of wins will count. Regarding the 2009 season finish, Vettel an Barrichello will (have) need(ed) to score MORE poins than Jenson Button to win the title. Jenson has already won six races, both Rubens and Sebastian have/had won two races and can/could thus score a maximum of four wins. A tie in points would make Jenson world champion. The situation regarding the contructor's trophy is identical. In case drivers or teams split points AND number of wins, the majority of 2nd place finishes will count, if they also split second places, te majority of 3rd place finishes will count, and so on. In the (very unlikely) situation that drivers split ALL race results, the FIA is allowed to declare the driver world champion "by criteria they deem appropriate". Style[edit]

Some of the text here looks way too much like the text on the F1Live site, particularly the description of Friday practice. Apart from the fact that the F1Live style is not really appropriate for an encyclopedia - it's journalistic and chatty - we're not allowed to copy stuff word-for-word from websites.
