Legends v Misioneros

[edit]

It looks like the Missionaros are the new name for the Legends and they are slowly getting their website up and everything. But I think that we should keep it as the Legends in the table until the USL updates their website to match. Any thoughts? --Trödel 20:28, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should show the actual name of the team, which is Los Angeles Misionarios. They showed just Legends last year too, when the team was actually called Los Angeles Azul Legends. JonBroxton (talk) 08:46, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good - we should probably find a reference to the name change --Trödel 16:44, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with that team is that, historically, they don't do press releases. They never announced the Legends-Azul change, never formally announced their logo change last year. I'll see what I can dig up, but the fact that the website has "Misioneros" all over it should be enough. JonBroxton (talk) 16:49, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd totally agree with that if the website actually worked - but most of the links give a 404 error - the only pages that work are the coach, roster(which is a picture with no names or year), Misioneros girls (although it should be "girl"), shop, schedule (actually up to date with 2011 games), executives. The sponsors, about us, etc pages are not 404 errors but are completely blank. a google search on the old site is useless. Unfortunately, the only evidence that exists that the Misioneros are the same team as the Legend is that the schedule on the website matches the PDL schedule for the legends. Almost all other evidence out there is from the text of the wikipedia article, e.g. the facebook page for the Legends is actually the lead from the Misioneros article, etc. This is the closest I could find to a "news" article that supports the fact that it's been renamed. Never mind I finally found a source. Hallelujah! --Trödel 17:22, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Order of the standings

[edit]

Can editors please remember that there are multiple levels of determining the order of the standings? The first tie-breaker is the head-to-head record, but that only comes into play at the end of the season, when everyone has played all the games. In the dynamic in-season standings, the placings are determined by points, then goal difference, then goals scored. You can't list teams equal on points with the same place, unless their goal difference and goals scored total is also identical. Thanks. JonBroxton (talk) 18:34, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
