Player representation

[edit]

This section is premature. The statistics are incorrect since the player clubs are incorrect. Many transfers that do not take effect until 1 July have been added to the article and they need to be reverted before the statistics should be performed. Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:35, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Players' clubs should be listed according to the FIFA website. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/tournament/competition/02/10/38/80/fcclop_neutral.pdf GoPurple'nGold24 20:05, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Squads Layout

[edit]

Is there a way to use a script to tabulate average age for each squad? The information is all here (each players age), only need to calculate it and think where to have this type of statistics. Arresc (talk) 17:50, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what this has to do with the squad layout, but I do not know of any script to do this automatically, nor why it's necessary. Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:11, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Necessary is not, however, since we already have many statistics included with the squad info, the average of age of the team would be nice. It is quite informative about the current squad. Arresc (talk) 22:13, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Eddy Etaeta's date of biirth

[edit]

All the pages in other languages say that Etaeta was born on 1 June, but at FIFA.com is texted that his BD is 16 December. Who is right? Andrey Tsyganov (talk) 22:09, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the recent changes

[edit]

I don't agree with some of the recent changes, but it's too long for the edit summary, so leaving my thoughts here...

  • Why revert the text to present tense when the tournament's now done?
  • MOS:HEAD is clear on flags in headers.
  • WP:COMMONNAME is about naming articles but points remains the same -- including FULL name is confusing, unnecessary, and it's not how the players are best known.
  • Club prefixes/suffixes like F.C. are always excluded. I don't know that we have a specific policy for this but it's incredibly commonplace.

If we look at other, similar articles like 2010 FIFA World Cup squads, they follow the standards laid out above; I see no reason to ignore the rules for this one. Buttons to Push Buttons (talk | contribs) 19:27, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
