This is a parliamentary election, so parliamentary leaders should be taken into account

[edit]

Similar to other parliamentary or legislative election articles of countries with a presidential system, the parliamentary leaders for the parties needs to be taken into account for the infobox. That means Binali Yıldırım as parliamentary group leader of the AKP since 24 May 2017, as opposed to Erdoğan. See French legislative election, 2017 as an example. Nub Cake (talk) 12:27, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Nub Cake: nop, for France, Olivier Faure was socialist parlementary group leader but he was not the head file for the election. The file leader was Bernard Cazeneuve. Also, I am against your change. --Panam2014 (talk) 12:59, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Binali Yildirim is not the leader of AKP anymore, so Erdogan's picture must be there not Yildirim. Beshogur (talk) 22:08, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

[edit]

Hi @Nub Cake and Number 57: We should merge Next Turkish parliamentary election and Turkish presidential election, 2019 into Turkish general election, 2019 or Next Turkish general election ? Since the constitutional changes, parlementary and presidential elections will be held in the same day. --Panam2014 (talk) 13:00, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, per (e.g.) Kenyan general election, 2017 etc. Number 57 13:25, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Support, I made a similar proposal for merging Zimbabwean parliamentary election, 2008 and Zimbabwean presidential election, 2008 into a single article titled Zimbabwean general election, 2008 and it was agreed to. It's the same thing here. Charles Essie (talk) 17:01, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
But for example in the US case, they have separate election articles for presidential and legislative elections even if they are held on the same day, along with a 'United States elections, 20xx' article that summarises all of them. I would prefer this method because it'll provide more clarity overall. Nub Cake (talk) 12:25, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Number 57: could you move the page please ? --Panam2014 (talk) 16:50, 26 September 2017 (UTC) This page and Turkish presidential election, 2018 should Merge with Turkish general election, 2018. Leftwinguy92 (talk) 12:25, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Strongly Support, the presidential and parliamentary elections held the same day, President Erdogan also is the leader of the AK Party. See as Taiwan general election, 2016 on 16 January 2016. Presidential and legislative elections held on the same day, and Tsai Ing-wen is the leader of the Democratic Progressive Party.Paul Lincoln (talk) 12:54, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Support, for reasons stated by others above. Μαρκος Δ 01:03, 2 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose (and note), this discussion is out of date and was overruled by a separate consensus established later on on the Turkish general election, 2018 talk page. Please discuss it there. Nub Cake (talk) 15:01, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
