Protests start date
[edit]June might be the most consequential month so far due to Sonko's sentencing, but there have been other notable protests earlier this year also organized by Sonko and his supporters related to his judicial issues and Macky Sall's political future. It would be inaccurate to say this wave of protests started in June.
