Olympiad Open

[edit]

Olympiad Open, but was there any woman? --AndrejJ (talk) 20:05, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The picture of the Israel team (second place in the open) shows a woman, but I can't confirm that she was part of the team. There could be others. A different angle shows that to me a man. But it was open to women, so it is "open". Bubba73 (talk), 21:43, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Judit Polgar was definitely one woman, she was on Hungary's open team. Sjakkalle (Check!) 08:42, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So, just Judit? --AndrejJ (talk) 20:31, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Probably one woman on the Israel open team too. You might be able to find this information at the official website. Bubba73 (talk), 01:19, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Browsing through some of the photos, I saw two women playing in the open section, other than Judith Polgar. Bubba73 (talk), 01:48, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find explicit information (man/woman) on the official website. --AndrejJ (talk) 05:26, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Someone could ask on Susan Polgar's blog, http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/, she was there. On Saturday she takes questions. Bubba73 (talk), 05:40, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Found four:

  • GM Judit Polgar, Hungary, 2nd board
  • WCM Ila Mody, U.S. Virgin Islands, 4th board
  • WFM Raisa Luna, Bolivia, 5th board
  • WGM Anya Corke, Hongkong, 1st board

--AndrejJ (talk) 23:05, 28 November 2008 (UTC) And WIM Ketevan Arakhamia Grant, Scotland, 5th board 83.240.41.206 (talk) 19:18, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
