This page, AFC Basingstoke, is on my watchlist.

I'm new to Wikipedia -- from last Sunday 21 January 2007.

However, from what I've seen so far, AFC Basingstoke seems a perfectly reasonable subject, so I'm surprised by the proposal to DELETE.

Football (soccer) is NOT my 'thing'. I'm certainly no expert. But the contents look reasonable to me -- for Basingstoke's football club -- Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK -- 15 miles is north Winchester where I live.

Prior to finding this AFC Basingstoke page (by accident), I knew nothing of the specfic subject (AFC Basingstoke), so it could be all wrong.

I see if I can find out more -- with a view to updating the AFC Basingstoke page. But NO promises as too how soon!

As I used to live in Basingstoke, I know they existed. I do not believe it should be deleted and its looks like nobody else does apart from the individual that created the deletion notice. I have removed the deletion notice to allow further discussion. Fimmmark (talk) 22:02, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are lots of clubs that do not meet the criteria set by the deletion notice such as Bournemouth Gasworks Athletic F.C , who I had not heard of until today. I can't see why they should be deleted as they all had a place in history. Fimmmark (talk) 22:39, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
